Local diary

Your profile, goals, meals, nutrition, weight, energy expenditure, fasting settings, recipes and confirmed meal photos are stored on your device. NouriBud currently has no user account, advertising or analytics SDK and does not automatically synchronize this diary to our database.

Features that send data

Only when you request an AI feature, the selected photo, screenshot, description, label, recipe or minimized seven-day nutrition summary is sent over HTTPS through our IONOS server to the OpenAI API. Online food search may send a query or barcode directly to Open Food Facts. You must review AI estimates before saving them.

Optional calibration

Calibration is optional and requires both a separate initial consent and a checkbox for each weighed meal. It may send one or two meal photos, meal name, confirmed total grams, the original AI estimate and your corrections. It does not send your profile, body weight, expenditure, full diary, note, recipe or exact meal time. Photos and data from meals saved before consent are not uploaded automatically. Only a new meal for which you separately confirm the weighed amount and the contribution can be submitted. Contributions are used only to measure and improve estimates and are kept for no more than 24 months or until withdrawal. You can withdraw and request deletion in Settings.

Providers and retention

IONOS hosts the gateway and optional calibration storage. OpenAI processes content requested for AI analysis. Open Food Facts is an independent open database. The NouriBud backend does not persist ordinary AI request content; OpenAI may retain standard API abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days unless another approved retention setting applies. Network security logs may include IP address and are configured for short retention.

Your choices

You can review, correct, export and delete local data in the app. You can refuse optional calibration without losing app functions, withdraw later and request server deletion. Uninstalling the app deletes its local sandbox but cannot delete exports you saved elsewhere or original photos in your gallery. See the privacy choices page for instructions.

NouriBud is a wellness diary for adults aged 18 and over. It is not a medical device, does not diagnose or treat disease, and is not designed for weight loss during pregnancy or treatment of eating disorders. Consult a qualified professional where appropriate.
